Introduction

Welcome to our college

The mission of the department is “to provide a high-quality engineering education and contribute new knowledge through research in Mechanical Engineering and allied disciplines. In addition, the department seeks to maintain recognition through work and service to the college, the university and the external community."
The fundamental objective of the undergraduate educational program at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of CSIT is to provide the opportunity for our students to develop a firm foundation in mathematics, science, and design methodology applied to the disciplines of mechanical engineering. A second, critical objective is to provide the learning environment where students understand and are able to apply the most contemporary and essential tools needed in the breadth and depth of mechanical engineering.

STRENGTHS

  • The Department is accredited by National Board of Accreditation.
  • Highly Experienced and dedicated Faculties enrich the Department.
  • Fully furnished and well equipped Laboratories and fully fledged Workshop.
  • A number of apparatus and equipments have been designed and fabricated in-house to suit the need of experiments and to make the principles easier to grasp by the students
  • Well maintained departmental library with all kinds of reference books.
  • Increasingly involved in Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Robotics, and Non-conventional energy recourses ( solar).
  • To interact with experts and professional from industries for research and development , the department has taken membership of professional bodies like NAFEMS and IIIE.
  • Special technical lectures for students by leading technical experts from industry as well as institution.
  • Students Development Programs & Add on Programs are organized for overall development of students and Faculties.
  • National conference and Workshop are arranged to enhance Technical and Managerial skill of Faculties, Students and Staff.
  • Industrial visit of all the students to various industries like Ashok Leyland, Topworth Steels, Jayaswal Neco Industries Ltd., etc every semester.

he Institute

Global Competitive Spirit is the trademark of all the technical institutes of the world as Globalisation has indeed arrived on the wings of science & technology and is here to stay. ’ CSIT, an AICTE recognized institute and affiliated toChhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai is a premier center for excellence has laid its foundation on this base. It believes that the paradigm shift made inescapably imperative by the sweeping changes across the globe came about only through the process of learning feasible through interaction & education. Here more than 1600 students are working in unison with stamina, resistance, skills and foresight towards the cherished ideal of economic development & industrial growth by preparing themselves to face challenges to the utmost. Learning here is a potent amalgamation of capabilities of intellect & the power of soul, which aids students to toil and explore the values of fairness, objectivity, compassion, team working, commitment and super ordination. They are tuned to the needs & demands of business and industry not only through the state of art inputs but also through carefully designed co-curricular programmes. The aim is to produce sound technocrats and individuals. From a humble start in 1999, the institute stands in all its glory on the manifold thresholds of success.
